Hello everyone.  This is our Saturday once again to scrap….Girls day/night out!  I am making a Brocoli Potato soup for dinner.  There is some water available and some other snacks.  I am out of chocolate right now, so if you have that chocolate urge, maybe bring some with you.  Dave will be making his famous coffee for everyone around 4:00.

I have been experimenting with different things, and I may have a little scrapbook page kit available for you to try, if you want…my treat.  I also have a card with a quilting technique I have been keeping aside, and forgot about it, so maybe we will try that too.

One thing I didn't get a chance to tell you…I was the recipient of a BIG package of goodies from EK Success.  I am thrilled and was so excited that all I could say was "Oh My God!!!"  "Oh My God!!!"

There were 18 punches in one box  (some are duplicates) and K and Company paper, kraft flowers, and Stamping Gear stamps, Jolee stickers, 3 small boxes of stickers,    These will be here for you to use if you need any.  We should have a fun time!

I have recently received a digital stamp, and I am trying them out.  This is something new for me.  This umbrella, from CDAC, is a stamp they sent me. This is what I created with that stamp.

I sized the umbrella to 3 inches, then colored it with my Copic markers.  I added the dots with pearl drops.  The background paper is from a paper pack of Recollections.  I found an old pack of dried flowers, which were perfect for this card.  I placed some glue on the background paper, and then added my dried flowers to it.  Then I placed the umbrella over them, making the umbrella bulge with all the flowers. For my corners, I took a Spellbinders die and some blue glitter paper and cut it in half.

Here is the inside of the card.  I gave it to my Mom for Mother's Day.

Please leave a comment to let me know your thoughts about this card...what you liked and what could be changed.  I am trying to get better at what I do.  Thanks.

Now go on to Nicoles Blog to see what fabulous thing she has created for you.

May flowers just for you...

April showers bring May flowers, or so the saying goes.  I love seeing flowers.  These stamps are part of a set of twelve stamps from Stampin Up.  It is a set from several years ago, with a flower a month.  Both my girls will be giving this to Grandmom.  One daughter was born in January and the other was born in February...therefore I used the January flower stamp and the February flower stamp.  Of course, you can use any of the stamps to create your cards.

I am not sure where I got the background paper, because it was a scrap piece in my paper stash.  I used Stampin Up markers to color the flowers.  and after coloring the flowers, which really didn't take long, I used faux stitching around the edges, then mounted the stamped images on blue cardstock.  Three buttons in the upper corner and a sentiment in the lower corner will finish this card.  Simple and quick!

Scrapbook layouts...I was busy.

As I mentioned yesterday, it was National Scrapbooking Day.  I went to Michaels with a group of friends and had a ball.  Of course, who can go to Michaels without buying something.  They had their sidewalk sales...with some Martha Stewart punches and some EK Success punches.  Of course, they were ones I didn't have, so I had to get them.  ;)

I put together 10 layout pages at Michaels.  Wow, did I fly through them.  I must admit that I did have a kit from Storytellers, but I used my own designs and later I will add more embellishments to make them pop a little more.  Here are the ones I created:

I am pleased with these.  I have had other kits from this company, and I wasn't crazy about them, but these I like.  I will add some flowers, maybe some ribbon and glitter, then I will show you how you can take a plain, simple page and dress it up.

National Scrapbooking Day is Here!

This is what we have all been waiting for.  It is finally here.  National Scrapbooking Day.  Today I am heading over to Michaels to attend a Scrap-In.  This is a scrapbook outing where you can use their tools to help you create things for your scrapbook pages and cards.  I am hoping to work on both a baby album and a wedding album.  I got to get working on both of these.  Later tonight, after I get home, I will post a couple of pictures of what I created.  Should be interesting to say the least.

I wanted to add a card for your viewing pleasure.

This card is a simple one that didn't take long to create.  I used the Damask Decor cartridge for the Cricut and cut out the design.  The stamp was one I had, not sure about where I got it.  That is it.  I hope you like it.

Lady bug, lady bug, fly away home

Yesterday, I talked about the rain that has been falling for spring.  Flowers will soon be springing up in your flower beds and gardens.  With the flowers come our friends the ladybugs.  I don't know about you, but I love little ladybugs.  Some cultures actually think they are good luck.  I remember as a small girl the saying "Ladybug, ladybug fly away home.  Your house is on fire and your children are gone."

I am a member of The Stamps of Life, and we receive monthly stamp sets.  This month we received the ladybug stamp set.  I think it is so cute.  I made this birthday card in a matter of minutes.  It was so easy to do.   What do you think?

Slugs and Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails.....

April went by so quickly.  It is hard to believe that it is May already.  They say that April showers bring May flowers...well, I don't know about where  you live, but the flowers here in NJ are starting to bloom.  Trees have buds that are opening up into small leaves...creating a canopy that will soon provide shade.  The weather isn't sure if it wants to warm up are remain a little cool.  Soon I will be able to go out on my deck and read in the warm sunlight.

When I saw this little boy stamp, it brought memories of my son, playing in the puddles.  It also reminded me of my husband.  He is like a little kid at times, and would think nothing about jumping in a mud puddle and splashing all over.   The stamp set is a from S.W.A.L.K. called "Slugs and Snails"  I used some Gelatos to color him in, painting everything.  For the grass, I just scribble some greens and gold and blended them lightly.  I hope you enjoy this card.
